I’m trying to grow grass. Here’s some of it at week 2. Other parts are a bit more filled in, but I liked this shot better. Ignore the line that runs through the top…Flickr seems to be having an issue when I upload.
We decided to mix things up a bit this week by adding a member to the family here. Not a human member, mind you, but a short little thing that is interested in cuddling, eating, licking, pooping, and sleeping. Meet Roxy:
Yes, I realize that’s three dog photos in a row. I promise I’ll have something different next week! (maybe)
Half way there! I know, this week I probably should have posted a picture of our new house but right now the place is a total mess as we begin unpacking. Instead, I have a picture from our annual “4th of July War” where my dad, brother, and I line up a bunch of those little firework tanks and fight it out until they’re all gone. This is one of the casualties…

Nila was swimming for her company at the Kansas City Corporate Challenge this week. She swam a variety of events – this was taken during the 50 Fly.

This is Rosebud. She was tired from walking around a hot parking lot and decided to take a nap. For more information about Rosebud and her owner Ellen, go here. I promise, it’s a good story. You can view more pictures of Rosebud, Ellen, and the Walk For Wishes in Grand Forks here.
Another part of our trip last weekend was visiting my parents. I like going back for more than one reason, but I really like seeing the “puppies” and getting to pet them. Cassie, pictured below, is one of the sweetest little dogs ever. Though when she was a puppy, that was probably not true.
Last weekend I summited my first 14er. Being early June, there was still quite a bit of snow so I left the Rebel and took my old PowerShot loaded up with CHDK firmware (biggest advantage: RAW). The panorama below doesn’t begin to do justice to the view from the summit but it’s as much as I could get before my fingers started to freeze.
If you have time, check out the rest of the pictures here.

While I was back in town for a not-so-good reason, I’m glad I was able to hook up with my brothers and go fishing for a little bit. Grandpa, after all, would have wanted it that way. We didn’t catch anything, but I still thought it was fun. Holmes Lake looks nice these days.
