Week 24 – Nate

Grace Christine Nelson joined us this week (on the 14th). Maria and Jon stopped by the house today for a few pictures. It was tough picking just one to use but this one really stood out. The hand is Jon’s… I just love the way she’s looking up toward him while clutching his finger. So cute! The rest of the pictures (and some Nila took at the hospital) are up here.

Week 23 - Nate

We have a little niece on the way (due this week!) so it’s quite likely that you will soon get to experience several photos of __________ (they won’t tell us the name…). Until then, we have one of the crib. The baseball is one of Jon’s (dad) homerun balls. The cat blanket was Maria’s (mom) when she was young.

Week 23 - Jordan

This week was the annual DigiGirlz technology camp on our campus. It's a three day camp where the (135) attendees learn about programming, tech careers, and various technologies. It looks like a great camp to me and the girls seemed like they had a lot of fun.

When we got back from our trip to Nebraska (that I mentioned last week), I had two calendar invites in my inbox asking me to take a whole group picture and individual team shots. It sounded interesting to me, so I went and gave it a shot or 33.

Week 22 - Jordan

A day after we got back from Minneapolis, we had an unexpected trip back to Nebraska. While there, we took a trip to Omaha and I was able to take some photos at Great Harvest Bread Co. (also, you should 'Like' them on Facebook - the owners are great folks.) Tasty bread. If you haven't been there, you should go.

Oh yeah, free samples.

Week 22 – Nate

It’s grilling season and Maggie loves to “help” me out on the deck once the meat is on. This is her typical pose which seems to be her way of saying “boy that smells good, can I have some?”

Week 21 - Jordan

This weekend (the 31st, actually) is our two-year anniversary. We took a trip to Minneapolis to celebrate and just to have a short vacation. We fit in quite a few activities during the trip, like checking out the outlet mall outside of Minneapolis, eating at The Nook, meeting some friends for dinner at Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge where I injured our waitress, and visiting Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul. It was definitely a fun trip that we'll have to do again sometime. The rest of the photos I posted from our trip are here.

Week 21 - Nate

Not going to say who but someone turned 50 this week (hint: it wasn’t Nila). In honor of that, we had a delicious “Older than dirt (and worms)” dessert.

Week 20 - Jordan

I was very excited that we had our first "real" thunderstorm of the year. So excited that I tried to go to the park just south of us to take pictures because I knew it's dark there. That didn't work out when it started raining, so I retreated back to the house. Couldn't shoot through a window because it was getting hit by rain, so I opened the garage door and setup the tripod. I took 5 or so 30 second shots like this one before I got it right and then just crossed my fingers that lightning would happen where I was aimed during those 30 seconds.

Week 20 – Nate

Nila, Maggie and I went for a “hike” at the Overland Park Arboretum this week. I was really hoping to take some pictures in the botanical gardens but mother nature had other ideas: just about the time we got as far away from our car as possible, it started pouring. We ran the ~1 mile back to the car and, completely soaked, decided to head home. Hopefully we’ll make it back out there another weekend. Until then, I present you with this picture of a tree. WOO!
