Nila was swimming for her company at the Kansas City Corporate Challenge this week. She swam a variety of events – this was taken during the 50 Fly.

This is Rosebud. She was tired from walking around a hot parking lot and decided to take a nap. For more information about Rosebud and her owner Ellen, go here. I promise, it’s a good story. You can view more pictures of Rosebud, Ellen, and the Walk For Wishes in Grand Forks here.
Another part of our trip last weekend was visiting my parents. I like going back for more than one reason, but I really like seeing the “puppies” and getting to pet them. Cassie, pictured below, is one of the sweetest little dogs ever. Though when she was a puppy, that was probably not true.
Last weekend I summited my first 14er. Being early June, there was still quite a bit of snow so I left the Rebel and took my old PowerShot loaded up with CHDK firmware (biggest advantage: RAW). The panorama below doesn’t begin to do justice to the view from the summit but it’s as much as I could get before my fingers started to freeze.
If you have time, check out the rest of the pictures here.

While I was back in town for a not-so-good reason, I’m glad I was able to hook up with my brothers and go fishing for a little bit. Grandpa, after all, would have wanted it that way. We didn’t catch anything, but I still thought it was fun. Holmes Lake looks nice these days.
What have I been doing? Well, I haven’t been doing a good job of taking photos this last week. I did a very short portrait session with someone at worked (their college needed a photo for a promotional thing), but for some reason, he didn’t want his photo posted everywhere. Short of that, I’ve been watering our (new!) lawn. I have a pair of shoes dedicated to this task because it gets a little wet.
Nila and I went to First Fridays yesterday at the Crossroads district here in KC. There are all kinds of entertaining street performers but a group called the Sonic Sidhe Tribe is particularly fun to watch. I’m still processing the rest of my ~150 pictures from the evening – I’ll post a link to the SmugMug gallery once they’re up.
Update: I've posted several of the pictures here.

We’re puppy-sitting this weekend. Not many pictures have been taken, but Ellie would like to remind you that, unlike Kirby, she is a dog.
